5 Hours on a Plane and 100 Degrees Warmer

Last Friday when the temperature in Minnesota was negative sixteen degrees, the entire Julius family boarded a SunCountry Airplane for a 7 day vacation to the island of St Maartin. After spending a relaxing 5 hour plane ride (ok not sure "relaxing" is the right adjective to use), we stepped off a plane into a beautiful 80 degree sunny paradise.  We rented two houses right next door to each other that were about a block away from the beach. 

There were two strange things about the trip that I am not sure I could handle for much more than a week.

1. We had no cell phones, computers, or TV.  We were completely isolated from the world.  It is so amazing how tough it is to live without cell phone communication.  We actually had to "plan" on how to meet up with each other instead of calling and saying "where are you"

2. There were no doors on the bathrooms.  Each bedroom had a separate bathroom that was connected to the bedroom but there was no door that separated the bedroom from the bathroom.

There was a small pool connected to the house - so of course we spent a fair amount of time swimming in the pool. 

Listened to Island Music. 

Can't tell from this picture but the three kids were having a great time dancing to the one-man band.

Of course, played football with Grandpa.

Always something entertaining happening with this group.

 Some of us drank a few too many Carib (local beverage of choice)



It was a great week. 

But now back to the real world.....
